Waka Moenga – 3D-Crafted Taonga Vessel
This larger 3D-printed waka moenga is created as a vessel for holding and honouring the taonga that carry deep meaning in your life. Inspired by traditional waka forms and the cultural significance of a resting place, it offers a way to safeguard precious items such as cremains, pounamu, heirlooms, memorial keepsakes, or personal treasures connected to loved ones.
Each waka moenga is crafted to order with care, printed using durable, high-quality materials, and finished with refined detailing that reflects both contemporary design and the artistry of Māori whakairo. The result is a meaningful fusion of heritage and innovation — a modern vessel shaped by cultural respect.
Whether chosen as a personal memory chest or as a gift to support someone on their journey, this piece is designed to hold taonga safely, beautifully, and with dignity.
Created in Aotearoa using a blend of 3D printing techniques and traditional carving influences, every waka moenga is a thoughtful expression of technology woven with tradition.
About the Taratara ā Kae Pattern
Taratara ā Kae is a traditional Māori carving pattern that carries the story of Tinirau and Kae — a tale where Kae eats Tinirau’s beloved pet whale, Tutunui, leaving marks on the bones. The name refers to the barbed or jagged marks left by Kae’s crooked teeth.

Caring for Your 3D Printed Taonga Box
To help your 3D-printed treasures from Rayven Toi looking their best, here are a few simple care tips:
-
Avoid extreme heat or cold — these can cause the material to warp or weaken over time.
-
Skip harsh cleaners or acetone, as they can damage or even dissolve the surface.
-
Handle with care — a little gentleness goes a long way! Too much pressure can cause cracks or breaks.
With a bit of love and care, your 3D prints will keep their magic for years to come, and become Taonga in your Family.
